Airtel Tanzania has today donated education books to Kisawasawa

Kisawasawa Secondary school and was attended by the members of press,
Kisawasawa representatives and Airtel staffs. Speaking during the
handover ceremony Airtel Public Relations and Events Officer Dangio
Kaniki said "We understand the shortage of teaching aids in most of
the schools in the country; this is why we are committed to support the
government under ministry of education to ensure we contribute to the
education sector in the country. We recognize education has the
fundamental role and is key to the economic development, poverty
alleviation, and is the basis for future manpower/ employee that
provides great leaders to our nation. This is a continuation of our
Shule Yetu programme that has been in existence for over 6 years".
"We
are highly committed towards supporting Tanzanian communities not only
by providing communications services but also by improving the
education level in the country; we applaud the government efforts but
realize that we also have a role to play, which brings us to Kisawaswa
today. Airtel Tanzania has given equal opportunity to schools from all
regions in the country including the aisles to ensure the educational
support reaches most of the students and reduce the need for
educational and scholastic materials. Today we continue demonstrating
our commitment by this books donation to Kisawasawa Secondary school in
Kilombero Morogoro and believe it will be significant to Kisawasawa
students and teachers". said Kaniki.
On
his part Kisawasawa head teacher Munesi A Msigwa expressed his
appreciation towards the books donation and assured Airtel and the
community members in Morogoro that Airtel support will be kept to good
use and ensures the education level at Kisawaswa is promoted. He
added,"Airtel donation is true demonstrations of corporate willingness
to support the government in the education sector. We believe this
contribution will bring significant changes and increase our books ratio
from where it was. I urge and appeal to our students to make use of
the books donated by Airtel today to better their performance". Last
week Airtel donated books to Mtipwa Seconday School in Singida, in
their urge to help more schools under the Shule Yetu project Airtel
will continue with its plan to reach more schools across the country
and provide sustainable support. Since the beginning of the project, we
have been able to support, approximately more than 1,000 secondary and
primary schools with teaching aid and scholastic materials across the
country.
