Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has
sent a condolence message to H.E. Ram Baran Yadav, President of the
Democratic Republic of Nepal following a tragic earthquake that rocked
Nepal on Saturday 25 April 2015.
The message reads as follows:
“H.E. Ram Baran Yadav,
President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,
KATHMANDU
I
have learnt with profound shock and deep sorrow the sad news of a 7.8
magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday, 25 April 2015 claiming
at least 1,800 lives and devastating buildings and centuries old
temples.
The
tragedy is not only for the loved ones of those who perished but also
for all the Nepali people and their friends. As a country therefore, our
thought and prayers
are with the people of Nepal in this time of grief.

On
behalf of the Government and the People of the United Republic of
Tanzania and on my own behalf, I offer deep condolences to the victims
of the powerful earthquake and also sincere sympathies to the injured
and families of the victims.
