Scary, isn’t it? This is what Lil Wayne will look like if he shaved his hair. But why would Weezy shave the dreads that he went through much discomfort to nurture over the years? He’s become synonymous with those dreads and it’s unthinkable that he would chop them off in a whim. But there’s a good reason to consider the possibility.

A law in New York, where Wayne is serving a yearlong jail term, requires inmates shave their locks unless it’s for religious purposes. The thinking is that dreadlocks may be symbol of gang affiliation. Another law stipulates that a prisoner’s hair is not supposed to extend past shoulder level. If it does, the inmate is required to shave it off. Weezy’s hair would be in clear violation of this law.
